Experience learning beyond campus with this Honors Program Study Abroad opportunity to Cuba.
Travel to Havana with the Honors Program during Spring Break to experience Cuban culture, history, and society.
Students will receive three (3) credits for IDS 121.64, City as Text: Cuba
Attendance in class on the following Wednesdays from 4:00-6:00pm is required: 2/7, 2/14, 2/21, 2/28, and 3/7.
Students will spend the majority of the program in Havana with some day trips to Viñales and Matanzas to visit tobacco and coffee farms, and historic sugar plantation. Visits to the Afro-Cuban Museum, Museum of Fine Arts, Museum of the Revolution, memorials, and businesses along with guest lectures from local faculty will provide a unique glimpse into life in Cuba.
