Illinois State University students who have graduated may participate in an OISP-sponsored study abroad program during the term immediately following their graduation by enrolling as a Illinois State University as a “Visiting Non-Degree Seeking Applicant”.
Studying abroad the semester prior to graduation is not recommended. As transcripts from host institutions cannot be rushed, OISP cannot guarantee that grades will be received on time to complete graduation requirements. Please be advised that if you choose to study abroad the semester prior to your intended graduation, you may need to delay May graduation to August, or December graduation to May. It may be possible to still walk in commencement with the Registrar’s Office approval.
Students who plan to study abroad their last semester must complete the Graduating Senior Acknowledgement Form and submit it to their Study Abroad Advisor along with their study abroad application.
If you wish to discuss graduation considerations in more detail, please contact the Study Abroad Advisor or your program of interest.
