Below you’ll find a list of known scholarships offered throughout ISU. As these scholarships are offered by various campus organizations, departments, and colleges, eligibility, application requirements, and deadlines will vary.

Illinois State Scholarships List
- Office of International Engagement
OIE Access Abroad Award:
Eligibility:
- Must be accepted into an OIE-sponsored study abroad program
- Must be enrolled as a full-time, degree-seeking student at Illinois State University; preference given to undergraduate students
- Must have successful completion of at least 24 credit hours at ISU or another college/university
- Must be in good academic and disciplinary standing at ISU; standing will be verified with Student Conduct and Community Responsibilities
- Must have an eligible FAFSA application on file with ISU for the academic term intended for study abroad; contact the Office of Financial Aid if you have questions
- Only completed grant applications with the required essay attached will be considered
Application Deadlines:
- Summer Programs: April 1
- Academic Year, Fall, and Fall Break Programs: June 1
- Spring and Winter Break Programs: November 1
- Spring Break Programs: December 1
OIE Access Abroad Award: Information and Application
Academic Year and Semester (Fall and Spring) Terms:
- Multiple grants of up to $1,000.00 are available
Summer and Break (Spring Break, Fall Break, and Winter Break) Terms:
- Multiple grants of up to $500.00 are available
Note: This award is based on the availability of OIE scholarship/award funding and may not be available each semester. If a student withdraws from their study abroad program OIE and the Study Abroad Team reserve the right to revoke the award from the recipient.

Hoon Mok Chung Scholarship:
Eligibility:
- Must be currently enrolled and in good standing at Illinois State
- Must be a sophomore, junior or senior at the time the award is given
- Must have earned at least 30 credits at Illinois State
- Miniumum major GPA of 3.5
- Must demonstrate financial need

Eligibility:
- Must be enrolled as an undergraduate or graduate student at Illinois State University
- Must have an established Illinois State University GPA
- Must be in good academic and disciplinary standing

Susan T. Kern Special Opportunity Scholarship Fund
Eligibility:
- Must be a female student currently enrolled as an undergraduate or graduate student
- Must be in good standing with the University
- Must have earned a minimum of 30 credit hours
- Minimum ISU GPA of 2.5

Dorothy E. Lee Grant
Eligibility:
- Be a full or part-time nontraditional (25+) woman undergraduate student.
- Be enrolled in a degree program, or have been admitted as an adult learner with the intention to enroll in a degree program, at Illinois State University.
- Submit a grant request that identifies the need for money for incidental expenses, such as for assistance with childcare, books and supplies, transportation, tutoring and the like. Documentation is required with the grant application

Eligibility:
- Must be participating in the ESA agriculture French Exchange Program or Farm to Table Food Systems in Argentina program
- Must be a current major offered within the Department of Agriculture
- Must give a presentation to the Agriculture Alumni Board of Directors following the program

Geography - Margaret Means Endowment Stipend
Eligibility:
- Must be currently enrolled in good standing at ISU
- Must be a Geography major (1st or 2nd major)
- Minimum GPA of 2.5
- Must be involved in any of the following:
- Practice Teaching
- Unpaid Internship
- Off campus travel and formal study
- Must show strong promise for a career in teaching or service to humankind, must have potential to become a positive influence in society, and must be of high character
- Must be nominated by department faculty
Margaret Means Endowment Stipend: Information
French Language - Petrossian-Tarrant Scholarship for French Study Abroad
Eligibility:
- Must be currently enrolled and in good standing at ISU
- Must meet the prerequisites in the French Language study abroad program (endorsed by the French faculty at ISU)
- Must demonstrate financial need
- Must demonstrate strong academic achievement, with a cumulative GPA in French of 3.2 and overall GPA of 3.0 or higher
Petrossian-Tarrant Scholarship: Information and Application
French Language - Endowed Scholarship for French Study Abroad
Eligibility:
- Must be currently enrolled and in good standing at ISU
- Must be a French major
- Must intented to study for 1 or 2 semesters in a French speaking country
- Minimum Cumulative GPA of 3.0 in French
- Must have applied for financial aid for the present semester and for the semester or summer in which study abroad is intended
- Must meet the prerequisites in the French Language study abroad program (endorsed by the French faculty at ISU)
Endowed Scholarship for French Study Abroad: Information and Application
Spanish Language - Universidad de Granada:
Students participating in the Spanish Language program to the Universidad de Granada are able to apply for scholarships associated with the affiliate company who sponsors the program (CEA).
Eligibility:
- Must have applied and been accepted to a CEA program
- Granada participants can apply to any of the CEA merit-based, diversity, or need based scholarships.

Eligibility:
- Must be currently enrolled as an undergraduate student in good standing at ISU
- Must have a major with the College of Arts and Sciences (1st or 2nd major)
- Must include an endorsement of the student's Chair/Director on the proposal cover page

Carson & Iris Varner International Experience Fund
Eligibility:
- Must be of Sophomore, Junior, Senior standing
- Must be an International Business major or minor
- Must be an active member of the International Business Club
- Must be approved to participate, be currently abroad, or have already participated in a study abroad program (most students apply while abroad or after they have returned)

DWB Dream Maker's Endowed Scholarship
Eligibility:
- Must be a United States soldier or veteran, including National Guard or Reservist, or be the dependent of a soldier or veteran
- Must major in Business at Illinois State University
- Minimum GPA of 3.0
- Must demonstrate a commitment to serving others through involvement in school and/or community activities
- Preference given to Entrepreneurship majors and students studying abroad in France

Matt Busey Endowed Scholarship Fund
Eligibility:
- Must be a student in good standing at Illinois State University
- Must be a major in the College of Business
- Minimum GPA of 2.75
- Must participating in one or more of the following activities:
- Study Abroad program
- Internship Abroad
- Sales Scholars program
- StartUp Showcase participant sponsored by the George R. and Martha Means Center for Entrepreneurial Studies
- Formal leadership development programs sponsored by the College of Business such as:
- Organizational Leadership Institute’s Leadership Fellows Program
- Katie School Certificate in Leadership and Business Acumen program
- Preference given to students participating in an experience abroad
Matt Busey Endowed Scholarship: Information and Application

The College of Education Student Travel Global Initiatives Award
Eligibility:
- Must be an undergraduate or graduate major in the Curriculum and Instruction Department, the Special Education Department, or the Educational Administration and Foundations Department
- Must be accepted to participate in one of the study abroad programs sponsored and developed by the College of Education
- Must be a first-time international traveler
- Must demonstrate financial need
College of Education Student Travel Award: Information and Application
The Franson-Anderson Endowed Memorial Scholarship
Eligibility:
- Must be enrolled in the College of Education, preferably Elementary Education
- Must be an undergraduate or second bachelor's student
- Must demonstrate financial need
- Minimum GPA of 3.0
- Preference given to full time students, those planning a career in teaching, and those who intend to use the scholarship to support expenses associated with international travel for academic studies, including student teaching, during their senior year
Fransen-Anderson Memorial Scholarship: Information and Application
The Jepsen International Scholars Program
Eligibility:
- Must be a U.S. Citizen
- Must be enrolled full-time in the College of Education (TCH, SED, EAF majors)
- Must participate in the international travel education experiences (courses) sponsored and developed by the College of Education
- Must demonstrate financial need
- Preference given to students who will be studying in countries where English is not the primary spoken language
