What is Conditional Admission?
Conditional Admission allows the Office of International Engagement (OIE) to grant you access to the host university/sponsor program application. Your final admission will be contingent on official acceptance from the host university/sponsoring program.
Direct Enroll Conditional Admission Policy
Which Programs: Not all programs qualify for conditional admission. Please consult the eligibility section of the program's snapshot tab to see if Conditional Admission is possible.
Who Qualifies: Students with a cumulative GPA at the time of application between 2.48 and 2.50 may be considered for Conditional Admission to enroll in a university abroad.
How do I apply for Conditional Admission?
You must submit the following items in addition to the standard application documents:
- One additional Faculty Recommendation, different from the recommendations already completed with your standard application (if applicable).
- A typed statement addressing the following topics (Should not exceed 500 words):
- Please discuss the current state of your GPA. What are you doing this semester to improve your GPA?
- How do you plan to approach your semester abroad and thrive given the potential differences in the academic system/rigor of the program?
- For Department Sponsored programs: You will also need the Faculty Advisor to email your Study Abroad Advisor indicating their endorsement of your participation on the program.
Final Acceptance: After submitted your supplemental application documents, final admission is contingent on acceptance from your host university/sponsoring program. OIE cannot guarantee admission.
