Transcripts and Accessing Grades

When and how your grades will be received and input will depend on the type of program you are participating in.

Transcripts for Faculty-Led Programs

Students participating in Faculty-Led programs will receive their grades in My.IllinoisState.edu once the Faculty Director enters grades.

Faculty Directors have until the grade submission deadline for the given semester to post grades. Grades should be accessible in your standard grade report on your My.IllinoisState portal.

Transcripts for All Other Programs

Processing Time

Transcripts should be sent directly to OIE after completion of your Study Abroad program. These typically take between 3-5 months to be sent to OIE. Please note this process cannot be expedited.

Upon receipt, your transcript will be forwarded to the Office of the Registrar for evaluation. Together, your transcript and Academic Planning Form will be used to determine the ISU equivalent credit and then will be entered into into your My.IllinoisState.edu account.

Accessing Study Abroad Grades

Once your grades are entered, you may access them by logging in to your My.IllinoisState portal.

  1. Go to the “transfer credit” tab in your Student Service Center.
  2. Find the school called Exchange: ‘Your Host University’.

Please be aware, while grades are housed in the Transfer Credit tab, all credits earned abroad will impact your ISU cumulative GPA.

Study Abroad Academic Records

Please note that an itemized list of the courses you take abroad will not be listed on your ISU transcript, but rather, hours and grade points earned at your host institution.

If you believe you will need a detailed transcript showing those individual courses for future academic or professional purposes (job applications, graduate school, certifications, etc.) we highly encourage you to request an additional official copy from your program before you depart.

Official transcripts from your host institution cannot be ordered through ISU upon your return. All orders must be made directly through your host institution.

If you are a former study abroad participant ordering a transcript, and you need the itemized list of courses from your time abroad, please request in the Special Instructions that your individual study abroad courses be included with your transcript.
