Examine the cultural lifestyle activities of Italians surrounding diet and physical activity and reflect on the differences compared to the United States.
Students will spend the majority of their time in Florence, Italy where they will visit local markets, farms, and schools to gain a deeper understanding of Italian culture. They will also take Italian cooking classes, attend guest lectures and guided tours, and participate in multiple day trips.
Florence, Italy: Situated in the heart of Tuscany, Florence is recognized by UNESCO as a world heritage site for its unique monuments and architecture. It is home to approximately 371,000 people and is only 1.5 hours North of Rome by train.
Excursions: Included excursions include a day trip to San Michele a Torri vineyard; and, a day trip to Cinque Terre which will include a hike on the Cinque Terre National Trail. There will also be an optional trip to Pisa available at an additional cost.
This itinerary is tentative and subject to change. Final itinerary will be given upon acceptance to program.
Students will stay in apartment accommodations that are managed by Cultural Experiences Abroad (CEA), an affiliate partner for this program.
